BIOGRAPHIES

Jaime Basurto Ponce

Jaime Basurto is a music student at Schulich School of Music with Classical Guitar as a main instrument. After his family immigrated from Mexico when he was 4 years old, music became an outlet that helped him throughout his life to remember his roots and connect with his new home. He studied classical guitar under Benoit Massicotte in the Arts-Études program at l’École Secondaire Curé-Antoine Labelle in Laval. During the pandemic, he studied and completed his pre-university studies in music at Vanier College under Patrick Kearney, who is currently teaching him at McGill University. Recently, he studied jazz guitar under Brazilian guitar master, Paolo Mari, and participated at Clazz Music Festival in Arcidosso, Italy.

Nicolas Baraby

Nicolas Baraby started learning music in elementary school and began studying the classical guitar there. At high-school, Nicolas played and performed with the high school guitar ensemble. It was in 2020 that Nicolas met the guitarist and teacher, Patrick Kearney with whom he is now studying for his Bachelor’s degree at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music.
