BIOGRAPHY
MARIANNE LAMBERT soprano
The young soprano Marianne Lambert is a finalist for the Opus Prize for Romantic Recording of the Year (for Mélodies Passagères), the winner of the Opus Prize for Best Regional Concert of the Year for Bel Canto, and of the An die Musik Recital Prize at the 25th Clermont-Ferrand International Singing Competition, and winner of the Grand Prize at the 20th Marmande International Singing Competition. Marianne Lambert has a diamond voice with shimmering colours and a remarkable stage presence. Her brilliant acting is matched only by the astonishing mastery of her voice. She has shone in the role of Ophelia in Thomas’s Hamlet (Opéra de Nantes, Angers and Renne), the Fairy in Massenet’s Cinderella (Opéra de Nantes, Angers and Montreal), Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto (Opéra de Rennes), Stella in Offenbach’s La Fille du tambour- major (Société d’art Lyrique du Royaume), Adèle in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus (Opéra de Montréal and Opéra de Québec), Woglinde in Wagner’s Das Rheingold (Orchestre symphonique de Montréal with Maestro Kent Nagano), Clorinda in Rossini’s La Cenerentola (Pacific Opera Victoria), Mlle Silberklang in Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor (Opéra de Rennes), and Marie-Anne in Hahn’s Ô mon bel inconnu (Opéra de Rennes and Opéra de Metz). A former member of the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, Marianne Lambert has been guest soloist with the prestigious Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières, Orchestre symphonique de Québec, Orchestre Métropolitain, McGill Chamber Orchestra, the NEM and the British Symphony Orchestra. Her future projects include the release of the recording Canzone di notte with harpist Valérie Milot, accompanied by a recital tour, a tour of L’Amant jaloux with Valérie Milot (harp) and Mathieu Lussier (bassoon), a tour of the Mélodies Passagères recital with pianist Julien LeBlanc, and the role of Madeleine in Albertine en cinq temps by Michel Tremblay at the Rideau Vert under the musical direction of Catherine Major.
VALÉRIE MILOT harpe
Valérie Milot is a musician and entrepreneur who has chosen to take the road less travelled. She is a champion for her instrument – the harp – bringing it into the light and to the front of the stage, dispensing with cliches and discovering new sounds and expressions, revealing to us that the harp can produce powerful sounds and astonishing colours. A sought-after soloist, Valérie regularly performs a rich solo repertoire with prestigious orchestras (Les Violons du Roy, Orchestre symphonique de Québec, Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal) and with renowned conductors (Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Bernard Labadie, Nicolas Ellis, Mathieu Lussier, Jean-François Rivest, among others). An active musician online, her YouTube channel boasts over three million views. The year 2022 marked the release of two albums, adding to an already vast catalogue: Canzone di Notte, play as a duo with the coloratura soprano Marianne Lambert (Fidelio) and Transfiguration, a collaboration with the cellist Stéphane Tétreault (ATMA Classique). On the production front, Valérie manages two companies that oversee projects encompassing original production, touring, music publication, and CD production. A devoted and enthusiastic pedagogue, Valérie is a professor of harp at the Montreal Conservatory of Music. There, she leads numerous projects dedicated to her life mission of unveiling the harp’s complex beauty to the world. After receiving the Prix avec Grande Distinction upon completion of her studies at the Conservatory with Caroline Lizotte, she was awarded the Prix d’Europe in 2008. The first harpist to win the prize in almost a century, she was, thanks to this honor, able her to further her studies with Rita Costanzi in New York. Her accomplishments have since continued to accumulate – she was named Révélation Radio-Canada and continued to receive many prizes. Valérie plays on an “Apollonia” harp by Salvi, graciously loaned to her by the Canimex company of Drummondville and belonging to the patron of the arts Roger Dubois.
