BIOGRAPHIES
Yves Lussier, trumpet
Yves Lussier studied music at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, where he earned First Prizes in trumpet and chamber music, as well as a Master’s degree in performance. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the Université du Québec à Montréal. For over 25 years, he has regularly performed as a freelancer with most of Quebec’s musical ensembles, including the Orchestre Métropolitain, I Musici de Montréal, the symphony orchestras of Quebec City, Trois-Rivières, and many others. He has also held the position of principal trumpet with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, the symphony orchestras of Longueuil and Gatineau, and the Orchestre des Jeunes du Québec. Additionally, he has participated in CD recordings, film score soundtracks, and commercial jingles. He has taught trumpet and ensemble at the Conservatoire de Gatineau, the Université du Québec à Montréal, and Cégep Marie-Victorin. Since 2005, he has been teaching at the Conservatoire de Trois-Rivières.
Louis Lussier, trumpet
Louis Lussier, after studying in a tennis sports-study program in secondary school, is currently pursuing his studies in Humanities at Cégep Édouard-Montpetit. He can regularly be heard performing with the Verdun Brass Ensemble and the Verdun Wind Orchestra, where he is also the personnel manager. He is also a member of the Orchestre des Jeunes du Collège Durocher de Saint-Lambert. In addition to his musical pursuits, Louis continues to live his passion for tennis by giving private lessons at the Longueuil Sports Centre.
Philippe Bournival, organ
Philippe Bournival, after completing a specialization module in composition at the Conservatoire de musique de Trois-Rivières in April 1999 under the tutelage of Gilles Bellemare, obtained his 2nd Cycle Graduate Diploma in organ in April 2000 from the same institution in Raymond Perrin’s class. In November 2015, he successfully completed his doctoral studies at the Université de Montréal, working under Erik Reinart for organ and Sylvain Caron for theoretical aspects. From January 2006 to July 2014, Philippe Bournival served as the musical director at the Sanctuaire Notre-Dame-du-Cap. August 2014 marked a turning point in his career when he shifted to teaching. He was appointed as a professor at the Conservatoire de musique de Trois-Rivières, where he teaches theoretical subjects. As a soloist, accompanist, and improviser, he can be heard performing across Quebec. Philippe Bournival is also interested in chanson, jazz, and world music. In addition to his compositions for theater, his catalog includes many works. Constantly searching for new sounds, some of his most recent works incorporate elements of electronic music.
