Biographies
Richard Paré, organist and arranger
Richard Paré received his musical training at the Music Conservatory of Quebec, graduating with three first prizes: organ, harpsichord and chamber music. He now combines his professional activities as continuist, soloist and academic at Université Laval, in Quebec City. Besides instrumental and theory teaching, he is founder and Music Director of the Atelier de musique baroque. A founding member of the chamber orchestra Les Violons du Roy, he has toured with them on many occasions – in Europe, the United States and throughout Canada, performed notably at New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, among other venues. Richard Paré has performed as guest soloist in many Canadian cities for a number of concert societies and was invited five times to play with the New-World Symphony Orchestra in Miami, Florida. Between 2006 and 2011, he was guest soloist with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, and the Chicago Symphonic Orchestra, performing organ works by Bach and Handel. In 2013 he was honored to inaugurate the new Casavant organ at the Palais Montcalm concert hall, with the Violons du Roy, under Bernard Labadie, in a series of four concerts. In 2014, together with the Violons du Roy, he presented Francis Poulenc’s Organ Concerto and played in the first part of a performance of all of Handel’s Organ Concertos under Mathieu Lussier. Since 2015, he has been a regular guest soloist with the Royal 22nd Regiment Band. Richard Paré is harpsichordist for the Quebec Symphony Orchestra and the titular organist for the Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens Church in Quebec City.

Clarinetists – Members of The Canadian Bass Clarinet Association
The Canadian Bass Clarinet Association – ACCB (accb.ca) was founded in 2020 by Mélanie Bourassa and André Moisan. The ACCB aims to create a Canadian community, interacting extensively with international communities to promote the bass clarinet. The association’s objectives are to inform members of what is happening internationally in terms of research related to the bass clarinet, to disseminate and update the interactive catalog of repertoire for bass clarinet created by Mélanie Bourassa, to organize concerts, symposiums, master classes and activities – and to create links between student communities, amateur musicians and professional musicians. The Canadian Bass Clarinet Association performed at the Low Clarinet Festival, Phoenix, Arizona in January 2023, at Concerts Lachine, Lachine February 2023, at Palais Montcalm, Québec in April 2023, and will perform at the Dublin ClarinetFest in July 2024.
