L’Orchestre de l’Agora (OA), under the direction of Nicolas Ellis, is a musical collective of variable geometry that reinvents the role of the classical musician in his community by focusing on his talent and his commitment. OA musicians, who are young professionals from the Montreal area, are among the best of their generation and actively participate in our daring concerts and social actions through music. Together, they wish to change the world, one note at a time.

Founded in 2013, the Orchestra has since had a dual vocation: to promote art and classical music, but also to contribute to society. Like its founder, Nicolas Ellis, the Orchestra’s fundamental values are the spirit of initiative and collaboration, commitment, impact and audacity. These values have been reflected in the many initiatives of the Orchestre de l’Agora over the years. Artistic projects have allowed them to join forces with singer-songwriters such as Philippe Brach as well as established classical musicians, including Andrew Wan, Kerson Leong, Charles Richard-Hamelin, Valérie Milot and Marie-Nicole Lemieux. The Orchestra has worked on several occasions with the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal and has performed at the Bach Festival, the OSM Virée Classique, Orford Music, the Lachine Music Festival and the Concerts Populaires de Montréal.
