Denis Plante

Denis Plante plays the bandoneon, one of the famous ‘doble A’ models, the authentic instrument of Argentine tango. His unique career as a singer-songwriter has made him the leading bandoneon artist in Canada and a distinctive figure in the world of contemporary tango.

As the spiritual heir to Astor Piazzolla, he has enriched the bandoneon repertoire with around a hundred works that capture the very essence of tango.

Denis Plante has given numerous concerts around the world, garnering rave reviews that highlight his virtuosity and lyricism. He enjoys an enviable reputation and is frequently invited to perform as a soloist in Canada, the United States and South America with symphony orchestras or in chamber music ensembles.

Stéphane Tétreault

The recipient of numerous prizes and honours, Stéphane Tétreault began his career at a very young age, and it quickly took off on the international stage. Under the baton of Maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin, he performs regularly with the Orchestre Métropolitain and made his

debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra in 2016. During the 2017–2018 season, he took part in the Orchestre Métropolitain’s first European tour and made his debut with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He has released eight recordings that have won critical acclaim, including ‘Album of the Year’ at the 2023 Opus Awards for *Transfiguration*. Winner of the 2019 Virginia Parker Prize and the 2022 Opus Prize for ‘Performer of the Year’, Stéphane plays the 1707 Stradivarius cello ‘Comtesse de Stainlein, Ex-Paganini’, generously loaned to him by Mrs Sophie Desmarais.

The artists will announce the program on stage.
